Our engineers continue to study and evaluate the impact of filler materials on the various performance characteristics of final coating products. Gemme Fine’s high-quality synthetic barium sulfate boasts an extensive specific surface area and excellent particle size distribution. Additionally, Gemme Fine has an extremely low oil absorption rate, making it suitable for all types of paints and coating systems.
Gemme Fine offers superior chemical stability compared to other filler materials, being insoluble in alkalis and other organic media, and its particles are finely and evenly distributed. Particularly in areas requiring high levels of weather resistance and chemical resistance, Gemme Fine provides long-lasting stability. When the amount of resin can be effectively reduced in coating products, the stability of the formulation components is also supported by the shortened curing time, reducing surface tension changes and resulting in more durable and cost-effective paint products. The extension of each filler particle requires the assistance of resin components, and since filler particles are fixed, adjusting the filler material allows for easy and effective control of coating film thickness. Edge flow (such as sagging, edge wrinkling, and dripping) phenomena are also improved. By utilizing electrostatic interactions between different fillers and inorganic pigment particles, the mutual stability of fillers and pigments is enhanced, reducing the amount of black pigment needed and achieving more vibrant color expressions.
Gemme Fine is mainly used in high-gloss and satin-finish coating products and maintains exceptionally stable chemical performance even when continuously exposed to corrosive gases and acidic coatings. It is recognized in all types of paints, particularly in high-gloss coating applications.
